Posters and Demonstrations Track

Posters provide a forum for authors to present their work in an informal and interactive setting, allowing the authors and the interested participants to engage in discussions about the work presented. The contents of a poster should motivate the relevance of the presented work to the performance engineering community, briefly summarize the goals and status of the work, and provide pointers to further information and related work.

Demonstrations provide an opportunity to showcase an existing tool or a research prototype, and would be also a welcome addition to an accepted research, work in progress, or industrial track paper. The authors are expected to prepare a 5-minute “teaser” presentation and subsequently perform a live demonstration on their own equipment during a dedicated demonstration session.

Best Poster and a Best Demonstration prizes will be awarded in recognition of outstanding poster presentations or live demonstrations.

Submission Options

Submissions are made via Easychair. At least one author of each accepted demo or presentation is required to register at the full rate, attend the conference and present the poster/demo.

There are two options for poster and demo submissions.

Submissions consisting of a 2-page paper:

In this option, both poster and demonstration submissions consist of a 2-page paper, clearly identifying the novelty of the ideas presented on the poster, or involved in building the showcased tool or a prototype. Note that, in this option, the actual poster or demo presentation are not uploaded in the submission form.

Demonstration papers may include use cases or specific results presented during the live demonstration. Both poster and demonstration papers will be reviewed and will appear in a companion volume of the conference proceedings. In this option, the authors submit only the paper, which must be in the standard ACM format for conference proceedings. The submissions should be clearly marked in the text as “Poster Paper” or “Demonstration Paper”, and must not exceed 2 pages double column, including figures and tables.

Submissions without an accompanying paper:

In this option, a poster should be submitted as a 1-page document, in pdf file, with a format decided by the authors. A demonstration should be submitted as a presentation slide-deck (e.g., ppt, odp, or pdf slides), with 5-10 slides. Such submissions will be reviewed directly based on the submitted material. However, lacking a standard paper form, such submissions will not appear in the conference proceedings.

Instructions for Authors from ACM:

By submitting your article to an ACM Publication, you are hereby acknowledging that you and your co-authors are subject to all ACM Publications Policies, including ACM’s new Publications Policy on Research Involving Human Participants and Subjects. Alleged violations of this policy or any ACM Publications Policy will be investigated by ACM and may result in a full retraction of your paper, in addition to other potential penalties, as per ACM Publications Policy.

Please ensure that you and your co-authors obtain an ORCID ID, so you can complete the publishing process for your accepted paper. ACM has been involved in ORCID from the start and we have recently made a commitment to collect ORCID IDs from all of our published authors.
The collection process has started and will roll out as a requirement throughout 2022.
We are committed to improve author discoverability, ensure proper attribution and contribute to ongoing community efforts around name normalization; your ORCID ID will help in these efforts.
